STEM Diversity & U.S. Higher Education Forum: Online Newsroom
Building on the 2011 Bayer Facts of Science Education Survey XV of STEM department chairs at the nation's top 200 research universities, the STEM Diversity & U.S. Higher Education Forum presented a handful of representatives running best practice undergraduate STEM diversity programs and those who are considered experts on college STEM recruitment and retention programs aimed at women and underrepresented minorities.

About the Forum
Bayer Corporation hosted a forum on the state of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) diversity at U.S. colleges. As the nation struggles to attract more women, African-Americans, Hispanics and American Indians to its STEM fields, the forum examined the undergraduate college environment in which these students make their career decisions.
The forum came on the heels of a new report from the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) titled, “Engage to Excel: Producing One Million Additional College Graduates with Degrees in STEM,” as well as a Bayer-commissioned survey that polled STEM department chairs at the nation’s top 200 research universities about their efforts to recruit and retain female and underrepresented minority STEM undergraduate students.
